New Shows…
sorry peeps… been a few days since I updated this thing… but you know how time flies when you’re having fun… Things are really rolling on the FM Talk blowtorch… what with the Ace Man on the #2 show in the country. We love all the publicity that Adam Carolla is getting on the show…but is it just me or is that one tough show to watch???? I mean, YIKES….it is ponderous, f’ing ponderous! Makes you just want to switch the channel and watch wrestling or some cage fighting. Oh well… it is exposing our morning show to millions of people every night so I ain’t bitching…. oh wait, yes I am. Either way, it’s good times…oh, and the chick that Adam is dancing with is red hot. I guess that makes it a little easier to stomach…what a hot babe! Back to radio… glad we didn’t do any stupid April fool’s stuff this year…don’t know what the other stations did but it’s usually kinda lame… I did have an idea to bring Danny Bonaduce back on the morning show…saying that Adam was fired ..but nobody bit on that idea. Oh, and we’re getting a lot of questions regarding the night show..and the departure of Brian Whitman.
Not a lot of stuff to say other than we wish Brian well as he moves on to his next gig. Working now on stepping up the game of Tim Conway Jr. and the night staff. Check it out when you can… And the fact that the first quarter is over…and it’s spring time is insane. If you like motor sports, you’ll be happy to know that The Speed Freaks are back on 97.1 on Sunday nights at 7 following the tasting room with tom Leykis. GTG… my carpol tunnel syndrome is acting up with all this typing… thanks for reading this blog…. must be bored…. lol…

Where’s Whitman? What did you do with him?

This is a little off topic from your blog post Mr Silver, but thought you would read the comments on your own blog and see this.
I listened to the ‘Conway’ show for the last time this evening. You really made a huge mistake by not backing Brian Whitman up, and letting him leave the show. Conway is just lame without Whitman. Side note - If I hear another clip of Conway’s kid I am going to blow my brains out. Conway’s nauseating perspective of the world is too much to take without Whitman there to balance it out with his witty perspective, and the Lykis voice; which could have been a show of it’s own.
You did pick me up again as a morning listener for the drive to work, after clearing the air waves for Adam to actually finish his sentences.
To wrap this up - I used to actually listen to the radio at home in the evenings, rather than watching tv, just for Whitman. You had something good there. Maybe getting rid of Conway would have been a better option?
I guess if you can keep me as a listener for ~40 minutes a day, and not ~4 hours hours a day, it still pays the bills for KLXS.
Sincerely,

Howdy,
Speaking of new shows…my friend told me about your contest to find the “next great talk radio stud” or something like that. It sounded intriguing enough that I went out of my way to actually record what turned out to be a pretty damn funny broadcast.
There I was all pleased with myself and my ability to make my friend laugh so hard he fell over (unfortunately the headphones were still plugged into the external sound card at the time so it kinda got broken in the process) until I actually went to upload my comedic genius via the website only to find it doesn’t work.
What do you mean it doesn’t work?
That’s my friggin question.
You fill out the forms, you browse for and select the mp3 file, you hit submit…
…the website thinks about it for a few seconds then redirects you to another? page that asks you to re-fill out some forms and a few descriptive paragraphs and re-browse for the file you want to upload.
You, being the next great talk show stud and just looking for the opportunity to get your material on the air, do so, check the box that says you’ve read the disclaimer, enter the captcha or whatever the hell the damn thing is called, then hit submit again.
This time nothing happens.
So you keep hitting submit, but nothing happens, even though the page says it’s done loading at the bottom.
So now you are either submitting absolutely nothing after putting all this effort into creating it, or submitting several copies of it as you keep pressing the submit button like you’re in a hurry and waiting on an elevator that is never going to come.
Frustrated, you spent all this time going out of your way to make a fool of yourself in front of the world for what appears to be not even a token acceptance and review of the material, you vow to find a contact email address for the webmaster but instead stumble across Jack Silver’s blog instead.
Taking note that no one else has commented on his most recent blog yet and that the station is still obviously seeking ways to increase it’s market share via increased caliber of talent, you figure you’ll just write your commentary about the website not working correctly here and hope it gets forwarded to the web master or someone who can make the damn thing work then get back to me.
Don’t you want to hear my story about “The Flamethrower Incident” and my childhood “prank” to get my father to stop smoking via a relatively unsophisticated strategy of “shock and awe” by putting firecrackers in his cigarettes?
Of course you do.
Which is why I humbly ask you to find someone to fix the damn website so other idiots like me don’t waste a whole bunch of time trying to submit ourselves to contests that may or may not exist.
Now then, what are the odds someone actually reads this? Who knows, but at least I can copy and paste the text elsewhere as soon as I find a valid email address.
Okay, I’m done. Thanks for reading.
Carry on.

What are the odds something is going to happen when I press the submit button here? Well, one way to find out….

Hey Jack,
What happened to the link to upload for your talent Talk show? It’s seems to be missing…
What was the deadline?

When will you give Danny more time. Really dig his show, but way to short (pun intended). You are under utilizing his talent(s).
