….. sorry boyzz, I have been a bad program director…not updating my blog in a long time… so let’s catch up! It’s f’ing Talktober already…where did the year go??? this is a great month for our station because we always have a ton of stuff going on. Tonight, (i’m writing this on 10/2) it’s Adam Carolla and the crew at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel…which is a landmark spot. The Ace Man has been on fire lately..and these night time broadcasts are excellent. Kind of cool too that Adam is flying to New York tomorrow to attend Howard Stern’s wedding. Howard was on our station for a looong time..and I wish the guy the best. I met Beth back in the day when we used to do his show from the Hard Rock hotel in Vegas. Howard’s doing the right thing by marrying her. Men live longer if they have a cool dame in the house…keeping us in line etc…

Hope he’s getting a fat pre nup though… It would be a drag spending all that satellite money on a divorce… Anywho…back to our little neck of the woods. How about them Dodgers… I love Man Ram…. the guy is a stud and it’s great to watch October baseball with our teams involved. Frosty, Heidi and Frank have been signed for another year on our station…Hard to believe that it’s been 8 years since they first joined the FM Talk mothership…but they are worth it. Hope you had a chance to see their birthday bash at the Grove of Anaheim… 2500 O.C. die hards were in attendance. Bonaduce is…well just being Danny. The hardest working man in the station… might be also doing a show at one of our CBS stations in the east coast. Stay tuned for news on that… Tom Leykis is enjoying the “news cycle” that includes the election and the credit bailout thing. I love hearing Tom spread his wings and add these topics to his rolodex. Gonna go to Santa Anita with Tim Conway jr this weekend and bet the ponies… you keep listening and checking back ….I’ll try not to wait so long between posts…. you da man (?)…. I mean bye….lol….gtg…. yikes… etc’;

What up, yo?  been a while…but i’ve been busier than a one armed wallpaper hanger with a case of crabs!  actually…had some vacation time this past week… so now the radio battery has been re charged.  Here is a picture from the tom leykis summer splash live broadcast at the playboy mansion that’s me, in the middle…surrounded by the leykettes.   didja ever notice that even a dork can look pretty damn good when he’s got some hotties on either side???  thought so.  There’s plenty more action this summer at the Bud Light Lime beach house we have on the venice beach boardwalk.  Froty, Heidi and Frank will be there this friday…. oh, here’s a picture of tom leykis doing his show from there a few weeks back… nice.  got to get in the pool…it’s about 90 at my house…and after a week in san diego where the temp never gets over 80, i’m sweating like a ….  you fill in the blank. keep listening to 97.1 … carolla, fhf, bonaduce, leykis, conway and the john and jeff show… i appreciate it… out…

…damn… has it been a few weeks since i wrote this stuff??? yikes…sorry…i’m sure you’ve been going thru jack silver blog withdrawals… so let me see if i can bring you up to speed on the jack man’s month of july.  first off, here is a picture from a party i went to recently… that’s me and a friend singing karaoke.

nothing like a little bon jovi to make the night go a little smoother… it could have been either living on a prayer or you give love a bad name… , then again sometimes i    mix things up with a little “brown eyed girl”…  or … oh hell.  who cares!  a grown man singing heavy metal at a party in the san fernando valley…. not a good look.. but     it is one guilty pleasure.  try it sometime.  Radio?  oh yeah…  this is our busiest time of year…  with Frosty, Heidi and Frank hitting the road with their annual “should I stay or should i go” battle of the bands.  Last week, it was the key club on sunset…. then in august the house of blues in Anaheim, and in early september, it’s the sagebrush cantina in Calabasas.  These broadcasts are always free and open to you …so if you can get out of work, come check out the show.  Now, Friday is the annual Summer Splash with Tom Leykis at the playboy mansion.  I know this sounds weak, but I’ve been to the mansion so many times, I think i’m getting immune to hot chicks in bikini’s drinking Miller Chill.  Butt, and that’s a big butt, I guess I’ll barrel thru and try to have a good time.  You check it out on the radio and on line…. with pix to follow.  cool?  Oh, and look for Adam Carolla at the X Games this weekend.  F’ing busy time of year…  but it’s all good… Have to go…

Thank god we’re back at work after the long holiday weekend!  Why?  Too much golf, swimming and
bar b ques!  I mean if I have another hot dog…or burger, I’m gonna unswallow my lunch.  But, the highlight of the weekend was a trip to tom leykis’ new house in Santa Barbara county.  You’ve heard him talking about this place on the air…but it was our first trip to the casa…and it was well worth the drive.

Of course Tom was there and there were other cool radio peeps in the house as well including Danny Bonaduce and his girl…. Jhani Kaye, the PD of K Earth was there too with his significant other, the crew from the Leykis show too: Gary, Dino and Art.  I’ve attached a picture of me, bob moore, the guy who runs the radio station and Tom.  Not a bad way to spend the 4th of July….  Now, let’s get back to work my friends…good to hear Adam Carolla back with fresh shows after his vacation…and the ‘Duce will be live too @ 2…..

Fans of the Triplets will be able to enjoy another week of their best stuff…as they travel the world while we swelter here in the city of angels…  gotta go, have a much bigger name on the other line:  The Nasty Man wants back in…  lol…

…Happy Birthday America!  Can you f’ing believe that the year is half over???  The 4th of July weekend is here…and not a minute too soon…  Looking forward to a long holiday weekend..and the return of the full time shows.  Carolla and his crew, FHF and the ‘Duce have all been running best of shows…which have been damn good.
But it’s too quiet around the office…  I mean how many surf magazines can one guy read….or how much time can one guy spend on porn sites???  I mean seriously…
Now, the big day is gonna be huge with Tom Leykis hosting his 4th of July party at his new home in Santa Barbara!  This should be good…with Tom serving up great
bar b que and frosty cold beverages!  I might even snap some pictures from the event to post on this baby…. Should be some, check that, a ton of radio dudes at this
party.  Nothing like a Shotgun Tom Kelly sighting at a Leykis event.  Priceless.  So, you be careful on the grill…remember the Jack Man’s first rule:  NO Flare Ups!
Have a Miller LIte handy for drinking and also putting out any flare ups…  Also, back away from the M 80’s and other fireworks… the last thing we need is you to lose
a few fingers this weekend…. or worse, start an f’ing wild fire.   That said, have a great holiday..enjoy the radio station all weekend….. speak soon Holmes…. (that’s hip talk for “my friend”….

Oh christ, I haven’t written since the lakers lost their series with the women from boston!  Here’s my take… I agree that boston had a great defense, but if you think about it, we’ve got a team for the next few years.  Get somebody who wants to bang around in the paint…and we’re fine.  I think Andy Bynum will do.  As for what’s going on in radioville, it’s vacation time.  You’ve got Ace Carolla out for a couple of weeks… then, the last week of the month, FHF and the ‘Duce will be on holiday.  Thank god Tom Leykis already took his vacation so we’ll have some fresh shows in pm drive!  Same thing for Conway at night.  As I’m writing this nonsense, FHF are in Hermosa Beach for a live broadcast from Hennesey’s on the pier.  Love the south bay area of LA…  we always get a killer crowd there who love the station…and drink a lot of Miller Chill’s!.  Fans of the triplets will see a lot of them this summer as we get ready for another “should i stay or should I go” deal at bars all across So Cal.  Hope you’ll be able to meet us there.  Gotta go… need to stock up on ice… it’s 112 degrees at my frickin house!  stay cool.

Luckily things are rolling at the radio station…because things don’t look good for the home team. As for the station, couple more weeks before the morning show and midday show go on vacation. you won’t really notice, because the producers are working hard behind the scenes to prepare some killer “best of” shows. Nice Pao Gasol shirt too, right?  Might have to go back to the hair coloring too… looks like somebody’s grandfather found his way to the corn field and made a day of it…By the way, I’d put my skills on the bar b que up against any other Program Director in the business.  I don’t like to brag…but give me a beer and some food and let me go at it.  Tri Tip, Ribs, NY Strip…  shrimp, veggies… I’ll kick their sorry butts…  But I digress, onto radio!  Good to hear the Tom Leykis show back doing live shows.  Guess Tom used his vacation time to head to France… he deserves the time..and while he was drinking wine and eating croissants, his best of shows were killer.  Now, it’s a countdown to the summer splash at the playboy mansion on 8/1.  Welcome back to tim conway jr too…as he spent two weeks out of town as well.  Conway was funny as hell beating up the a holes that were complaining that they couldn’t get into Universal Studios the day of the big fire.  I mean these people are sooo self centered, that they couldn’t understand that the freaking place was on fire…they might have to change their plans.  Check out our R Cause, Bud Light Lime Beach house in Venice soon.  very cool..and finally, the series between the Lakers and Celtics is a huge deal for all of us..and you too.  I like the Lakers in 6 games… gonna be a tough at times…but, we have #24.  ‘Nuff said, Holmes….

okay blog fans…and you know who you are! i must have been really bored during the long, cold , rainy memorial day weekend, cause i was cruising thru some old pictures….and for some reason, you dorks like this old jack silver crap…(i do too) just can’t believe that this stuff is from the early 80’s while in the midwest…but, check these out. first, that’s me in the studio doing an airshift…must have been about 22 at the time.. check out those koss headphones… no wonder i can’t hear anything today…what???

and the last one is me and robert plant at a radio station in chicago. it was for that show “Rockline”, and i got to be a guest interviewer. I never really liked led zeppelin…but this guy is an icon. marry that picture up with a shot of him today! Yikes… the dude aged like crap…

For some reason, people are digging my old stuff…so i came across some early jack silver shots that should bore the crap out of any normal person..but not you! Here is a shot of me and jon bon jovi and richie sambora. must have been the late 80’s while working for rick dees. That’s why i’m such a fan of the band today…these guys were so cool during their in studio visit…not like other a holes in the music biz. the other shot is when i got music director of the year in ‘88 at kiis. kind of easy winning an award when you’re working at the #1 station in the country for top 40 music.. anywho, hope you enjoy laughing at the bad mustache shots… peace out…
